Action Work

  1. Henry 1860, Winchester 1866 and Winchester 1873 rifle action jobs are $150 each. All the internal parts are removed and inspected for proper fit, finish and tolerances. All springs are reworked and tuned to each individual rifle. All rifles receive extensive trigger work and provide a crisp clean break according to each shooter's individual needs and requests. The timing and head space are checked and adjusted if needed. Each gun is internally deburred and highly polished where needed. As a result the shooter can expect a gun back that is pleasure to shoot.
  2. Henry 1860, Winchester 1866 and Winchester 1873 rifle 'short stroke' kits with a special lightweight lifter block are $175 each. The 'short stroke' kit is built in-house using your original parts to make each kit fit your rifle needs . Each original brass carrier is put on a " Crash Course Diet" on my milling machine for one hour resulting in a much lighter and more efficient carrier that is hand-fitted to your rifle.
  3. Henry 1860, Winchester 1866 and Winchester 1873 rifle 'Race Gun' package is $325 each. This is a combination of an "Action job" (#1 above) and 'short stroke' kit and lightweight lifter carrier (#2 above) that is not only smoother and faster to cycle, but easier and more fun to shoot! All 'Race Gun' packages (i.e., action job and short stroke) also come with a Marbles bead front sight and a leather lever wrap at no charge. This is the way to do it up right! I guarantee you will be satisfied.
  4. Marlin 1894 rifle action jobs come with a titanium one-piece firing pin for $150 or $125 without it. All internal parts are removed and inspected for proper fit finish and tolerances. All parts are polished and deburred when needed. All springs are reworked and fit to each individual gun and steps are taken to help prevent the dreaded "Marlin Jam". The addition of a titanium one-piece firing pin really helps these guns.
  5. Winchester 1892 rifle action jobs are $125 each. All the internal parts are removed and inspected for proper fit, finish and tolerances. All springs are reworked and tuned to each individual gun. All guns receive extensive trigger work and provide a crisp clean break according to each shooter's needs and requests. A shooter can expect to get back a rifle that is not only smoother to operate, but much more fun to shoot!
  6. Winchester 1897 shotgun action jobs are $150 each. All the internal parts are removed and inspected for proper fit, finish and tolerances. All springs are reworked and tuned to each individual gun. When these guns are in 'Full Race' mode (i.e., action job , 20 inch barrel, polished magazine tube , highly polished bolt, properly cut stock to your length of pull, Kick Killer Recoil pad, etc.) they not only cycle faster and operate smoother, but they just plain look FAST just sitting in your cart!
  7. I can shorten your original Winchester 1897 shotgun barrel, plus drill, tap and install a large bead front site for only $45.
  8. I can adjust the length of pull on shotgun stocks and add a leather lace-up recoil pad for $45. This can really help smaller frame men and women.
  9. Double barrel shotgun action jobs are $125 each and well worth it. All the internal parts are removed and inspected for proper fit, finish and tolerances. All springs are reworked and tuned to each individual gun. Chambers are polished to help in getting those hulls out! Automatic safeties can be switched to manual safeties. You can expect to get back a gun that is not only easier to open and close and load, but are fun to shoot!
  10. Bond Derringer action jobs are $75 each. All the internal parts are removed and inspected for proper fit, finish and tolerances. All springs are reworked and tuned. All guns receive extensive trigger work and provide a crisp clean break. The result is a derringer that is easier to cock and fire. And it is also faster and easier to open and reload! I built a Bond derringer in 2005 that placed first in the SASS Maine State Championships in Falmouth, ME and placed second in the SASS North East Regional in Thurmont, MD. With two hands on the table and gun resting on table --- Two shots fired on steel in .77 sec in Maine and .85 sec in Maryland.
  11. Revolver action jobs are $100 each and includes beveling the front of the cylinders, widening the rear sight slot, installing lighter springs and a trigger job. Any bluing due to machining would be an extra cost, but stainless steel guns can be polished at no charge.
  12. General firearm repair can also be done. Check with me before sending your firearms!
